v0.2.2 - merchant (early release only)


Have you ever had so many minerals you don't know what to do with? Now, you can trade those worthless minerals into valuable gold!

This update is only available on the downloadable executable "rocket_early". It's still very much a work in progress but I thought it could be helpful to receive some feedback (and bug reports) between now and when I can work on the game next to speed up the testing process.

It will be released onto the web build in about 2 weeks, along with a whole bunch of fixes, balancing changes, and QoL adjustments.

what's new?

added jack (get 100 of any one mineral to see what he does)

added new mineral gold

added something to do with your hard earned gold. (this new character only appears once every 7 days)

added items: boxing glove, pickaxe, stopwatch, binoculars, target practice, harvesting, combo

reworked inventory system - still WIP

what's next?

There's a few major features/qols/balancing/bugs I couldn't get done that I'd like to have in the web build. Namely:

a system to choose which items to accompany you into each mission

an option to disable jason's effect (still deciding on this)

fade the inventory when it's obscuring important info

add dialogue to the merchant

move the day counter so it doesn't obscure the close button

new sound effects


After these, I'll be dedicating some time to polish the game. There's a massive new feature I have planned for the next content update so I want to make sure the game can handle the complexity, plus it still needs a menu + proper ending! There's a lot to add...
